LEADERS in Training/JUNIOR Staff
Junior Staff Career Development is a comprehensive small-group program designed to guide youth toward careers in youth development or human services by nurturing their leadership skills and providing guided, practical experiences. Club staff guide the development of interested and concerned youth toward volunteer involvement in community service activities in our Leaders In Training/Junior Staff program.
The Leaders in Training and Junior Staff programs teach young members basic job skills. Each member must complete an application and then is interviewed for the position. Members are responsible for filling out timecards on a daily basis and are given a paycheck, which can be traded for prizes. By preparing for the future, members will have a head start when they are ready to enter the work force.
Leaders in Training:
The Leaders in Training program is geared towards member ages 8-10 years. Each participant attends weekly meetings and work in teams to identify and complete at least two Club service projects. Members must also complete at least 40 hours of service in at least 2 areas of the Club.
The Junior Staff program is geared towards members ages 11-15 years. Each participant learns valuable job skills through attendance at Job Ready classes, identifies and completes at least 2 to 3 community service projects totaling a minimum of 60 hours of service in at least 3 areas of the Club. Graduates of the Junior Staff Program may become eligible to become members of the Club’s Teen Staff.
